POSTED 13th JULY 2026
Hi all,
Last week was a warm one, so we decided to change the lesson plan from Wednesday onwards.

On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, we worked on self-defence against double grabs.
On Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, we focused on kihon in karate and boxing drills in kickboxing.
If you need any videos, they can be found on our YouTube channel.
Please make sure you bring your gi to class (top and trousers), as well as a pair of shorts in case the hall is warm.
Please wear appropriately sized shorts that allow you to stretch and kick comfortably.
If you are unable to attend classes over the summer, please make sure you message one of the instructors.
This helps us know who will be attending, especially in our smaller classes.
Over the summer holidays, we are offering one-to-one lessons, focusing on the areas you want to improve, such as kata, pad work, fitness, sparring, self-defence, and more.
One-to-one lessons are a great way to accelerate your progress in martial arts.
Every session is tailored to your individual goals, whether you're preparing for your next grading, improving your technique, building confidence, or simply wanting extra practice.
With personalised coaching, you'll receive instant feedback, have more time to ask questions, and work at your own pace.
These sessions are suitable for all ages and abilities and are a fantastic way to develop your skills and get even more from your regular classes.
If you'd like more information or would like to book a one-to-one lesson, please get in touch.
Many thanks,
Jamie, Joash, Harry and Burnett Academy Team
